Yesterday I had the system cranked both 30amp fuses in the side of the amp popped I replaced them and they blew again right away. The amp is running bridged at 2ohms and has been happily doing so for months, I didn't run it any harder than usual when this happened, the only difference was it was freezing cold. also the system had only been running for about 30seconds when this happened. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

Disconnect the speaker wires from the amp and attempt to power it up again. If it continues to blow the onboard fuses then it will need to be repaired. To be honest I haven't had the best of luck with any of the tantrum amps when loaded to two ohm mono.

Ok, just been to disconnect the speaker wires and its still blowing the fuses  the amp appears to power up for a couple of seconds, draw a lot of current (the load on the alternator is significantly slowing the idle speed of the engine) then pop the fuses. Any idea what may need replacing?

Sounds like an issue with the amp's power supply.

yeah, i can say from experiance with the xs2500, your powersupply fets and gate resistors are toast
