Love it?
Hate it?
Worthless addition?
Not much chatter about this item, so I thought I would ask.

I really loved mine when I first installed it. Now, I'm not sure I would use it in my next install. I find myself using the LPL knob way more than messing with the cube remote...

it can be a handy tool to help tune a box that has a dead spot in its freqs, or it can be a bassheads dream to make a one note wonder. Depends on what you want.

I love mine... I use it and an LPL, makes a huge difference. i run ported subs. It's something i've used for quite a few years. Never experimented with it on sealed subs tho.

Hmmm... I'll be running sealed, so I'll definitely post up how it goes.

I run mine on a single 10 in a sealed enclosure. My box/sub combo seems to hit super hard on low bass but seems to need a little help from time to time on the higher bass. I have mine tuned at almost the highest freq, low Q to help out when its needed.

Never used one I have had an Epicenter I guess they are similar in what they do I think. Also have an ESP-3 can't live without that I love it

For ported subs they are great, since you can limit your boost to the tuning frequency of the box. I prefer the LPL in general though; it doesn't create distortion like the artificial bassboost does.

no an epicenter is different, the bass cube is just a one-band parametric eq.
I love my esp3 as well.

Dealers love the BassCUBE and the Epicenter. Both are excellent money makers when customers blow subs over and over with them. For every one we sold, we sold at least another set of woofers per year.
The LPL is the better way to go. Since almost every system out there is bass heavy, the LPL lets you cut the bass instead of boost it.

I feel you need both the bass cube to tune the lpl to increase and decrease
that why i love the Octane le
best of both worlds
but yes Eric I here what your saying
but a smart installer can turn and set it so they can't...

And so can everybody who read the owner's manual plus "secrets".....
Damaging woofers with it, means that people were just too stupid not taking the time to learn how to use it properly. Like with a lot of other things ; read the owner's manual first........

In my first install i used only the LPL44. I had a Orion HCCA6s for front´s. 4 pieces of Audibahn AMD160´s in each door and a Orion HCCA15d for sub dutys! I didn´t feel the need to increase the sub frequencies with that sub in my trunk
In my second install i used only the Basscube. I had one heck of a front stage! No wonder with a Focal KX27SPL in each door for midbass. The 2 Focal KX38SPL in their sealed enclosures needed a little something to keep up with that front. The basscube was just right.
Plus: I never read the manual nor the "Secrets" and never managed to kill a sub.

it is just like any other piece of gear, if you use it correctly there is nothing to worry about. I have not blown any subs on mine and I know alot of others that are safe as well so you can't say it is going to blow your speakers. If your amp is not used correctly it will blow your speakers too.....
