what kind of technology is in the new small S amps?
I only saw a couple of pics...are these class D or G/H or what?
I like small amps but so far they are off in sound department...what is PG going to do to make theirs better than all the other D amps
dont get me wrong ARC makes a great G/H amp.....

Good questions.
S1000.1 is class D architecture that is very efficient, it packs serious power into a small package. Its a full size power supply, etc, laid out into a very tight space. Easy to say not easy to do. Most small amplifiers at this size make 300 to 400 watts, while we are making 1000 watts.
S400.4 is a class A/B amplifier. Again, input to output its a full blown amplifier with power supply/output carefully laid out into a small space. Fitting four channels of real amplifier power is not so easy, this is not a "chip IC" amplifier. There is also a temperature controlled fan in this model.

holy crap thats a tiny amp!
and no - no 2 channel amps.
2 channel amps are virtually worthless since 4 channel amps bridge to 2 channel amps with more power. the only real advantage that 2 channel amps really ever had (IMO) is that some of them had smaller footprints than the 4 channel versions. That little s-series amp seems to have taken care of that though.
Thats just awesome.
