How much wattage do you guys normally use to drive the 951 Comps?

Are they "only" SQ, or is it quite some punch in them aswell - if you power them up?

Isnt that set meant to run the 5.25" and tweet through the passive and then the midbass actively off the amp or did they make 3-way x-overs for them?

I have read numerous times that the midbass from teh 6.5" is really weak, but the 9" should have no problems creating strong midbass, With these types of drivers like the morels, the shallow depth of the basket usually restricts the air flow behind behind the driver. If you look at this DLS handbook page you can see a way to improve the low end response on these types of drivers.

You´ll have to run the 9´s active. The 5´s and the 1´s are powered thru a 2 way passive crossover.

I´ll be using a TI961 fully active in the future. Will power it it with a few 2250´s 8)

375 rms to the comp set....another 300 or so to the 9's....that is each....

I have effectively run them on less, but they like the power

I have seen that document from DLS so many times and yet it makes no sense to me, in most cases you will not have a massive amount of gap to chamfer back. Unless you mounting on 32mm MDF Icannot see you 5mm off a 10mm or 16mm board will make tat much of a diff.

Sorry for the hi-jack.

I was skeptical at first also, but owning DLS Iridiums and Nobeliums and now the UR series, it definetly makes a difference. Waves trapped between the spider and cone cause cancellation.

So....

If i have one 951 set, 2xms275 and one ms2250...

I can bridge one ms275 per side to front, and use 2250 til 9"s?

Sounds like it would do well to me...figure that 9 is running a very very narrow bandwidth and the amp will produce everybit of its rated power within that narrow range....bet they will get with the program...
