Personally not a fan of any 6x9......
But they have a purpose for sure. They'll give ya alittle lowend extension without runnin a sub.....
They don't sound bad atall but I just never use them.

Those tender little burgers with them little, itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in ya mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one.. just makes me want to burn this muthafuka down.... Come on, Pookie, let's burn this muthafuka down!!!
For 6x9s, that's pretty low powered actually. I'm used to seeing 75-100WRMS per speaker. If I go oval speakers, I'd personally use the 7x10s (Kicker used to make them, Kenwood still do). But as mentioned ^^^^ NO SUB REQUIRED.
And these are 2 ways, nice! Don't go 3/4/5 way because it just becomes TOO harsh for anybody's liking.
They are well priced though... You wouldn't lose too much from them.

I installed these in my sister's car last year. They're running off of after-market deck power so they didn't really wow me, but they sounded decent enough off of such little wattage. I agree with Tiger when he says stay away from 3/4/5 way 6x9's, there's no point in that many tweeters.
I personally prefer the older Pioneer Premier D691 6x9's. http://cgi.ebay.com/Brand-New-Pioneer-T ... 500wt_1182 I have a set mounted in the doors of my daily driver/ winter beater car powered by the front channels of my Xenon 200.4 and they sound amazing. Great bass, and the tweeter waveguides make the off axis mounting position tolerable.

Should they, though? Usually 6x9's are installed in the rear of the car... ideally you DON'T want to have your treble coming from the back. When you go to a concert, do you put your back to the stage? Of course not. All the sound comes from in front of you, and that's what a good car stereo will try to mimic, instead of immersing you in sound from every angle.Pug}{maN wrote:ya im just looking to replace my stock ones they have no hi;s to them at all
Having less speakers helps a lot with sound quality. Having several tweeters mounted on different planes in the car will cause annoying reflection issues, and cancellation where the sound waves intersect. This makes your stereo much harder to tune. As a result, imaging (left/right stereo separation) and staging (height and forward presence of your sound stage) will suffer.
You have only two ears, so you don't usually need more than two sources (think headphones). Instead of spending all of your money dropping cheap speakers in every hole in your car, you would be far better off buying one expensive set of components for the front stage, and installing them properly. If you have a very large SUV, you may find the need to mount additional speakers in the back for when you have passengers (but it should be left faded out otherwise). Usually only a midrange is needed, since the tweeters will reflect off of glass and carry very well around the car.
I filled the 6x9 holes in the back of my car with 6x9 subwoofers. Since the human ear can only locate frequencies above 60Hz or so, subwoofers can be mounted in the rear of the car, and will blend in with the front stage, creating the effect of a seamless full range stage in front of you.
i have a 07 doge caliber, has 6x9's front and back doors...

dont know if that makes a difrence
