system set up question

Post by kg1961 »

here is a list of gear I own and the car how would you install it?
what would you use
15farrad power core
clarion 585usb tv deck with sub control
mx3i (paid for it) just waiting on shipping
tantrum 1200.1
tantrum 400.4 (minty)and 600.4 not so nice
2 white Tba1 with cords
front mids and tweeter are 6.5 focals
dd10
back up camera
sub is a orion hcca 10 v2 in a small ported box
I have allot of extra wire rca ect
I was thinking
install the power core fuse 2 amps use the mx3 active off of one tba1 don't use the xover on the amps and just run it off the front rca off the deck
use the dd10 to control the remote wire and backup camera
i want to make a false floor with mybe a removeable cover to show some of the gear and have the sub in the box so I can remove it if needed when the kid come

any other idea also
most of my gear is gone :liar:

If you ask me the TBA and MX3 add complexity to your system where it is not needed. With decent RCAs and a good enough headunit, noise floor shouldn't be an issue. Crossovers should be just fine on your Tantrum amps unless you need 24dB/oct, in which case you can use the MX3.

My favorite engineering principle is KISS... KEEP IT SIMPLE, STUPID! The more crap you needlessly add, the more complex and breakable your system will be.

Bridge the 600.4 to your mids, bridge the 400.4 to your tweets. Use the MX3 to cross them over actively. Now that would be a rowdy front stage. You're going to need it to keep up with the 1200.1! Goddamn monster of an amp!

item

Post by kg1961 »

sorry guys I want to run a active front and only one 4channel and one sub amp
this is why i want the mx3i
also my deck is only 2.2volts so I would like to use the tba1 to the xover than out. One rca in 3 to the amps keeping it stupid and easier
I have never had a active set up i really want to hear how much better they will sound once its tuned
I will use the lpl on the mx3i so I don't need to use the sub output on the deck
Im not bass head but some track need a little more
I would like to use the power core than the dd10 as i feal there will be allot of items that need to be turned on I might add tv in the head reat ect. Also the power core and dd10 will be franked from matt so it will look cool also. I have 2 set of end plate for the amp to keep it looking clean

With the kid on the way I want to have the best sounding long term system as i feel I will have to get out of car audio and spend my time and money in other areas like my family
Tom to bad your out of town now I would have loved to use your RTA

Sounds like you've got it all figured out then. Front RCA to TLDt to TLDr to MX3 to amps. Only suggestion would be to use the LPL on the T1200.1 instead of the MX3. That way the MX3 produces its full voltage on the RCA (the LPL would attenuate the RCA output voltage). Should be a totally inaudible difference considering its on your bassline, but it's the best on paper dammit

Oh well, if you had my RTA available you'd need to buy an EQ and the last thing you need to do is buy more stuff

You would have to turn on the LP crossover on the T1200.1, just set the frequency as high as it goes and it will cut off well above what your MX3 sends it anyways.
