MS2250 question

Post by Pedi »

I remember that the MS2250 originals was not too happy about 2 ohm loads.

But I imagine myself that you could easily run a MS2250 original in bridged mode, with a 4 ohms element? Even though the amp "sees" 2 ohm per channel ?

Fans are ofcourse added...

4 ohms mono is the same as 2ohms stereo.

yes the original ms2250 is optimised to make all it's power at 4ohms mono.

if they're the same- would it matter then 2ohm stereo or 4 ohm mono?
i have mine set up at 2ohm stereo- but think i could go to 4 ohm mono if there are any advantages in doing so...?

there should be no power advantage, i would run 4 ohms mono as it makes sense to have both subs ran together to gurantee identical performance plus it's simpler to wire up..

Matt it would also allow you to use a common chamber box. some people say you get a slight gain in dbs from acoustic coupling but i have never seen any hard facts.
