i see people talking about the 20 farad powercore...i'm new to it...so does it have a high failure rate from getting too hot? or whats the drawback of it compared to the 15 farad powercore? and is there a fix to the 20 farad that would make it just as good as the 15? any advice would help...

It's not that they get too hot, the caps may leak causing a short/fire.

can they be changed? Or do they need to be replaced or changed? I got a new one...took the cover off and saw no leakage as of yet....but iyo should I get them replaced?

Did you see how many caps there were? Changing all of them can become quite pricey. I have one myself, and am not sure if I'll install mine for the same reasons.

They tend to have a different set of problems as well. If you search the forum, there's a lengthy thread about it.
Sorry for not giving a straight answer, maybe someone else will help us/you.

i bought one some weeks ago.
when it arrived i opned it to find one cap has exploded (rust onthe inside of the cover) and 3 caps where loose, so i took those out.
as long as i dont have time to fix it it is in my car and it works, maybe not as good when with all of the 288 caps...
but imo, when that much caps are used, a problem can occur.
it doesnt get hot though...

I wouldn't be using it in that condition your just asking for your car to start on fire.
