4 channel bridge to 2 front speakers

Post by vozaday »

Greetings, I have a PG qx4150 4 channel amp and i bought some speakers for the front. The 4 channel capacity is not enough for my liking. The speakers can handle 230w peak and 88 rms. Is there any way to do this so that the speakers still have proper sound, rather than just one playing front and another playing rear.

Is it ok to bridge the rear differently than the diagram to bridge the left speaker and let the front play right. Or should I just manipulate the rca inputs so the rear plays the left speaker and the front plays right.

Any ideas?

Thanks

you have the right idea. you will need a pair of y adaptors.

but yes, switch the rca's so the "rear" is right and "front" is left.

bridging it the other way will make sound as the ground trace is shared on the inside, but you wont receive more power like bridging the front with front and rear with rear

Ok so can i just get away with putting the right rca in the right front and the left rca in the right rear, will that work or will i have to run it so that on the front the rcas go the way they are supposed to and on the left put the right rca on the left and the left rca on the right, using a y adaptor

It will make sound, but you will get more input voltage if you use a y splitter. its worth the 10 or so bucks to do it.
