yesterday i hooked up an exile 2500 d and ran my elite 12 in my lexus..
HOLY FKN CRAP~~
this thing was hammering like crazy.. I would say at 27 hz i was in the high 130s or 140 range....yeah at 27 hz.. my niehbor thought his house was coming apart...
but in the process my 2 year old box (or that rear end collision in october)
with that 2500 watt beast put in end to my low bass machine as the port fell apart...
since the box was put in the car instages i never planned on making it servicable therefore everything was sealed and strong as hell.
well today when the port broke away and the box started to crack(again not my craftman ship

)
it had to be broke out of car in order to fix therefore i removed it and now
have no sub or amps in my car..
HOLY
i hve a trunk again and my car feels so much more agressive on acceleration.
so i wanna do another system similar in design yet not with so much emphesis on low end and i wanna use a more effecient driver so i can make a smaller ported box and really make a more space effecient trunk
i been hearing alot about the rsdc woofer and i really wanna know how it compares to say other woofers being used...how were the zenon woofers?
hmm ill keep the same woofer firing forward ported up top but i wanna run maybe one 2125 and say two mq430s *run my front stage active.
any input would be good. i was also looking at running a DD9512 but its kinda a beast of a woofer.
I wanna keep it all pg and if can get ahold of the new TI stuff i would like to run that.

We use to sell the Xenon gear. I was never overly impressed with the subs. They aren't very efficient. I've never been impressed with "bling" drivers and the Xenon is loaded with it

Now if you can pick one up for a good price, then there's really no reason not to go with it I suppose. On the list of some of my favorite subs ever, the Xmax is right up there. I know these are a litte hard to find right now, but since you want to keep it PG and 'if' you could find one I think it would offer what you'ld be looking for. They're efficient, sound fantastice, lighter than say.. a Xenon, and I've heard them have amazing output in the right enclosure

I may be wrong, but I believe the RSDC is essentially a Xenon with a few changes. I vaguely remember checking one out one day and they're very similar.
Anyway.. just mho.. an MS2125 on an Xmax= heaven

what size woofers are you planning? U run a small box with 4 - 8" drivers in my mustang just because it is lighter. I made it so the box hangs from the rear package tray, with the woofers firing down and designed it so that it can be pulled out of the car if I decide to go to the track or need to park it for an extended time. All told the box doesn't weigh much more then 25-30 lbs and can easily be taken out by one person, needs 2 to get it back in place.

Try two old Boston Pro 10.5s or 12.5s. The 10 needs 0.5cuft and the 12 needs 1cuft. I had built several boxes in the past for these woofers in cars where weight was a concern. Half inch MDF with bracing holds up well and keeps the weight down.

the xenon subs play lower then anything i have ever heard. ever.
but, they have no top end (50hz+) and as shaun said, need quite a bit of power
if you are running dedicated mids up front, port a xenon 10 to 18hz and call it a day
if you arent....a rsdc12 in a birch box finally made me happy in my e36. perfect blend of output to not weighing my car down.
the rsdc has absolutely nothing to do with a xenon sub. the rsdc motor has a flat wire VC, the VC is bigger, the cooling system is way more efficant, the cone is lighter and WAY stronger (some weird poly honeycomb that errin had a big stiffy for) better excursion.
i might be going to hell for saying this, but i think its better then the xmax.
its a FAST punchy sub like the xmax but still has no problem dropping into the 20's. i really dont see how a woofer could make me happier.

I've never actually heard an RSDC, so if it truly performs better than an Xmax (which I LOVE), then it sounds like a fanstastic driver and they can be had for a more than fair price.. seems like a win win to me. Like I said befor, I may be wrong about the RSDC and Xenon comparison. It was quite a while ago that I caught up with the rep who had a PG to check out, and I thought it was an RSDC but it may have been something else.... I've seen way too much gear to keep track

How much space are you willing to give up and still have "trunk space"?
If I get the Ti2500.1 I'm after, I'm seriously contemplating the thought of selling my two TREO SSi12.22's for a single TREO SSX 12.22. On;y needs a 2.5ish CF box ported to me loud/clean/low. Handles 2000wrms.
My vote is for a TREO SSi10.xx for your wants/needs.

I believe he has a couple of the Xmax's to his name
If I'm not mistaken.
