Phoenix Gold Phorum

Hi all.. Just want to let you guys know that I've been lurking around the Phorum for some time now. Reading, learning, getting ideas and now the time has come for me to do an install in my daily driver, a civic coupe so trunk space is at a premium and I would like to keep some of it along with access to the spare tire..
My question is which Sub out there will give me the best SQ with the least amount of air space and power? oh I would like to use a 10in sub. thanks in advance for any help - Joe

An RSdC would meet those requirements........

My buddy runs a 12 off the bridged rear of a xenon 200.4 and it pounds klean like.

thanks guys.. so let me ask this... will the 2 channels from a Route 66 bridged be enough to push a RSDC?

rsdc. period. you can't go wrong. they do it all

play VERY low, very efficient (while simultaneously able to take 600+watts). very fast, small box requirements. plus you can find them sub $100 pretty easily

the Phoenix Gold Roadster 66 5-Channel Amplifier is 78W RMS x 4 @ 4 ohms + 650W RMS x 1 @ 2 ohms is that the one you have ?

if it is 650w is fine for 1 rsdc...

no it's the 6 channel Route 66.. part M44 and part M25. So to bridge 2 channels from the M44 side should give me somewhere in the neighborhood of 200w. wondering if that's enough to power a 10in RSDC

Yes.

I have an M100 powering two 12" RSdC woofers and it's setup to provide at absolutely most 250W during the highest musical peaks at top volume. No problem and they get rockin'

I am running a 10 JLW3 off the bridged 44 and can not push it all the way

if it was an rsdc or W6- i would be golden- BUT it's just for the shop- BUT the rte 66 has alot more power than ppl believe/feel.

I ran the entire shop system off a 66, and can hear it almost up to my house- 7/8 houses away- i loose it around the 5th house- BUT this just a rte 66 with some '02 stock Nissan pathfinder 6" mid's and one (1) 10" W3

throw the 10" RSDC on that 44 bridged @ 2ohm and i bet you would be just fine- BUT I am not all that great with these things- BUT thats just my .02.

perhaps someone can confirm or chime in w/ different idea

I think rock it. Unless you are a bass head. And if you are wanting some extra output go ported.

or maybe grab a B.Cube and that will enhance/tweak your bass a bit too!

I'm no way a bass head .. here's what I have planned for the Rte66.. 2 channels off the M44 section brigded for sub duty, the other 2 channels will run at 2 ohms powering 2 sets of Focal 165KFs in the doors and the M25 section will power a set of Focal 130KFs in the kick panel

Nice job here!!! Just a little suggestion from a long time focal user! Get the tweets out of the door and mount them on the a pillar facing towards u.

Thanks for the suggestion Joerg. I still have another set of tweeters that i can mount higher on the door by mirror where the stock tweets go and give it a listen - Joe

you might have to source one for ebay...once someone installs them....you dont get a whole lot of people who will give them up!

I love the fact you know how many houses away you can hear your shop stereo from. I always used to have someone go for a walk and I would open my doors and rear window andcrank up my truck stereo to see how far away they could hear it from lol. It even brought the cops over once

ok.. searched high and low and can't find a 10in for a decent price. Thinking bout doing a single 12in. How many cu ft does she need and is about 200 watts enough to keep her happy? thanks - Joe
