X100.2
X600.1
RSD 6.5 comp set
RSD12D in 1.8 sealed

How are these xover points?

x600.1 LowPass 68hz
x100.2 Highpass 70hz

I am a bass head, but I dont want a sloppy sounding system, I listen to a lot of techno/rap

I dont know if i wanna do 89 low pass and 78hz high pass

Anyone have experience with this set up?

im used to run a very similar set up

i had a rsd12 off a 600.1 (im now doing 2 rsd 10's because i wanted a smaller box.....still think about switching back though...)

and run a x200.2 powering ti elites up front

your sub should be fine, but i bet you can run your front stage lower then that....

The comps will be run IB in stock locations sound deadened to hell, im just afriad the mid bass wont be too great, besides, isnt overlapping freqs bad for sq?

it wont really be that noticeable of an overlap, especially if you make use of the lpl. every set up is different, and it wont hurt to try. if you dont like the way it sounds you can just turn the crossover back up a click or two

Oh ok, just wondering since the next xover point was 63hz on the highpass, missing 2 hz wont make a big difference will it?

Also, I never got an LPL, ebay was just to expensive

Although the internal corssovers are pretty steep, you shouldn't have any issues with your system not playing the two frequencies. You will actually be playing these frequencies but, they won't be a loud as the others - if that makes sense. Crossover slopes don't drop off at 90 degrees, they recline at a slope.

Like what Bfowler said, you can probably get a way at crossing them over a little lower is you are concerned about not playing these two frequencies. You should actually play around with different setting to find out what sounds best.

gotcha, i thought you got one from cecil.

the 2 hrz wont make a difference. the frequncy isnt a "wall" that the notes stop at, its a slope. 63 hz would be the point at which the 24db peroctive slope starts. so 2 more hz will be <1db difference

Alright thanks guys

I wish i had space to get kickpanel enclousures made, but my e brake provides zero clearance, hopefully these RSD still have some kick in them.

Also while we're on the topic on installs, would I be better off using 1 layer of raammat on the entire car or 2 layers on just doors and trunk?

My biggest concern is sound quality, not road noise (even tho that affects the sound)
