we really can't tell by the serial number...but if you bought it new their is a good chance :( they stayed in the PG where house until the xenon line was discontinued, then they were let out as b stock.

best bet is to hook it up and see if it works. most of the cold solder issues were very minor issues like intermittent turn on or the rca leads.

I was wondering why there was an influx of new Xenons with issues... that's awful :naughty:

Hey Brian

These are not even B-Stock but rather bought from the manufactures in Korea, I think these were part of the stock that PG did not even want to collect after the manufacturers faults.....

The amps are selling in South Africa new for about $300.

What usually causes the intermittent turn-on issues?

so, flip a coin and slap some power on it and you can take a chance. I would agree with them that if it is new in the box it was probably part of the recall that was set aside as they didn't want to sell it then. I understand that they often do ship this stuff to other markets to get rid of them. How many people from aftrica are really going to try and return it?

No , these were not from PG direct, they were from Korea direct, and opnly came to the african soil once the RSD line came out.

Of the Xenon's I have, only the brand new one is the one that gave me problems.
