... From the first road test of the installed system in the Burb :)

I love it when a plan comes together! Everything went well and is semi tuned... The Kenwood X-993 is just so adjustable, it might take a while to set everything the way I want it. I love the HD radio!!! Way better than normal FM.

The sub. although still stiff from the rebuild, is still enough to pound the chest a little. Once it gets loose I will torture it properly... Granted on a d2d I usually set it pretty flat.

The MB Quart tweets were of course sonic loud excellence. The Alpine Type X mids I think are keeping up, but I might play with the x-over to see if it can sound better.

The ZX450 and ZX500 with the new caps sounded wonderful and barely broke a sweat! I set the gains half way just as a starting point. No (audible) distortion at 3/4 volume... Which is pretty damn loud.

I started sampling with the HD tuner on the local classical station, very nice but not challenging for the system. Switched to the Focal demo disc #1 for some great tunes. Really showed the detail with the MBQ tweets and a nice kick from the mids and sub. Then moved on to a "house" mix which I hoped would give the ZX amps a workout... Very loud and crisp, but not a challenge for the amps (barely warm). Good punch in the chest subwoofer level as well. More testing to come.

No dimming lights :) Gotta love a stock HO alternator.

Still a couple items to fix on the Burb and then I can turn it into a commuter beast. Wiper relay (common failure on C/K trucks ) and a sticking rear parking brake.

Pictures to come, it was just too dark to take any tonight.

Photos man..... Phoootooos !!!

Good to hear things are coming together.

I'm still kicking around the idea of switching from the Durango to a early model burban.
More room for bigger toys
