Need help with installing amp and a factory deck.

My wife has got an 09 saturn Vue and I am looking into installing a PG ZX450 to the factory speakers. I would like to use the factory deck also. My question in about running the wires. I'm planning on getting a NE-774V from this website: http://www.davidnavone.com/cart.asp?24&cat=7
(unless someone else has a different suggestion) There are two ways that I though I could run the wires.
One: Splice the factory harness and install the converter behind the dash and run RCA's back to the amp. Then run speaker wire back up front and splice back into the harness and use the factory wires to the speakers.
Two: Splice into the factory harness and take the radio outputs and run them back to the converter near the amp. Have the converter hooked up directly to the amp with male to male connectors. Then run speaker wires back up to the front and connect them to the factory harness that was spliced.
What do ya think? Is it cheaper to run all speaker wire or should I run some RCA's? What would be better for sound?
Thanks
