The 12's are now in a ported box I had built special for hatchback. Im putting system in different car and if I use this box speakers will be facing up with about 7" clearance space. I'd like to have them facing back of trunk this way I have around 17" clearance. I dont want to spend the cash to have box built. I cannot find the specs for innner cubic inch space for these subs. Does anyone happen to know? I have no clue about tuning box, and the boxes Im looking at have the slotted port. Another huge debate...some say sealed some say ported....whats your guys thoughts. Or should I stay with the box I had made which I think was tuned for speakers, but again I will only have about 7" free air space before it hits trunk.
Thanks

I know my good buddy had one 10 ported and it sounded pretty good. I personally only use sealed boxes. its more of a preference thing and depends on what type of music you listen to. honestly though, i like every type of music better on a sealed box.

you can take some measurements of your old box and use them to create a new one.

what you need to create is the same inner airspace area to port area.

post up some measurements if this doesn't make sense and hopefully we can help you

thanks guys

still on the fence of either ported or sealed.
i dont really want to build another box I'm busy and impatient and dont want to pay to have on specially built. So i was just gonna go the cheap and not so great sounded way and buy on premade. Just dont know the size box. I figured the best thing would be for me to measure the old box.

If its going in the trunk id go ported for the extra spl.
I like sealed better in hatch backs, but any gain you get in sq will be lost going threw the seats
