subsonic filte

wehter i go with the RSD sub and RSD amp set up or the Ti elite sub and MS amp set up i will not have a subsonic filter

i know what a subsonic filter does so we dont need to go into that.

this question is geared more towards the RSD set up then the Ti Elite set up.

i have heard alot that if you are going to give a sub more then its rated power you should make sure that you have a subsonic filter in place.

the reasoning behind this is so that you dont give the the sub a signal below its operatting freq, this i know. but from my understanding if i were to give the RSd sub 1000rms i run a higher risk of doing some serious damage to the sub if it is given a signal below its freq range and basically blowing the sub ( i know i cn blow it playing normally with that power but i understand that part, trying to focus on the SSF here)

is ther anything i can do to lessen the chance of this happening?

or is my thinking way off on the SSF being a concern here?
