Here ya go...

I might dig up my LMS computer and do some loaded frequency response plots on this amp, but I think I need to give the LMS computer some TLC first (it is from 1999).

With my 13.8V supply it will do 121W prior to clipping. It is rated at 14.4V, and if you figure a linear relationship which it really should be, it would do 126W. It is right at its rating.

Another great review Eric. Thank you very much. And thank you PG for once again delivering the goods. This old school MS head is being converted...

According to my bathroom scale, I gained 17 lbs when I picked the amp up.

That really is a nice looking amp. It looks like it could be made to take a plexi bottom pretty easily!
My suggestions...
- 24dB/oct crossovers instead of 18
- Nicer looking clamp bars and a plexi option to go with it
- It looks like you could squeeze a bit more capacitance in there
The only thing that makes me hesitate buying one is the crossover slope (and the obvious fact that I already have quite the TiAL collection

).
The split power supplies are definitely awesome though, since that would facilitate mixed loads like mine a lot better.

Ok so about 34# for a pair.
So if I sold my 3 ms 2250TA's for a pair of these I would lose about 17 pounds, gain flexibility, pocket some dough, gain space, and another pair of channels for a 3 way, but lose about half the power per existing channels. Plus I could get rid of my noisy 360.2 and Palm and use the 800.4 crossovers but would need a high quality 4 channel eq with time alignment that I could buy with the $ from the sale of the 360 and 2250's. Could prob get a pretty penny for my pair of consec. serial number 2250TA's too...
Hmmmm....decisions.

Think of it this way, the MS2250TA is 225W x 2 (the first overrated PG amp I have come across). If you bridge this Ti800.4, you end up with 500W x 2 into 4 ohms (unloaded non clipping voltage related), which is far more than the MS2250TA.
I personally would use one Ti800.4 for the right side, and one for the left. Not one for the components, and one for the bass. Use the front of each for a component, and the rear for a sub. Keep the sub at 4 ohm or more to make it easier on the amp. With a pair of these used like that, you will have the best stereo separation money can buy (two separate amps).

I love the "My daddy's an M44, who's yours," that is just plain awesome.
Thanks for the review Eric, appreciate your time typing that all up.
BTW, whats up with those black amps mounted on your wall in that one pic we can only see part of? A zx450 and 950 perhaps?

Only thing i would consider saying about the amp and what i was able to see... (BUT 1st, great review eric...BTW)
BUT, AND someone can correct me if i am wrong...
IN WHICH CASE I BELIEVE I'm NOT... (99.9876% sure I'm not anyways)
BUT on the "My dad is a m44, whats yours" text...
IYAM-IMO, that is incorrect english. should be ..."an m44"
I know people will say that you only use "an" in front of vowels...BUT you also use "an" when the consonant that follows (when spelled out phonically) begins with a vowel. so if you were to spell out the letter "m" (which all letters do have a spelling) - it is spelled out as shown... "em" for the letter "M"
so it should be "an m44", versus "a m44"
BUT thats just a slight critique that i would add.

I agree with that and 2nd the motion, better clamp bars, better opamps and perhaps more caps.....

These new amps sound pretty decent.
Can they be repaired in future like our old MS amps? Some of the parts look pretty small!

Looks pretty simple to me....I'm actually really surprised...everything appears to be THT, no SMT whatsoever. Is that correct?

These look easily repairable to me. The parts are the same size as other amps, just the amp is so big it makes the parts look small!
