I paid $15 for a non working M50, a Bandit at $10 is still a steal. You sir, should be arrested.

Good find/snag.

would it be hard to get it to working

Unless you are good with soldering, I suggest you don't fix it yourself. Yes you got a killer deal on that, but don't let that deal go to your head and make you think "I will try to fix it, but if I make it worse, it is only $10".

I would be willing to buy it off you, or fix it for you. Repairs would probably be under $100 depending on exactly what is wrong with it. Might be only $50 if it is something simple.

i am pretty good with soldering i have fixed other electronics before but never a amp i just need to know what part of the amp is that that is burned and the steps to replace it far as selling it make me an offer

The first step is to see if it is drawing a lot of current. Put a 15A fuse in line with the power input and turn it on. Let us know if the fuse blows or not.

that resistor is notorious for getting hot! i don't actuallt think that's your issue here but for starters i would swap it out for a bigger wattage one in the same value and stand it off the board a bit more.

the cap under it looks like it's got hot as well, maybe swap that out too 8)

its exactly this kind of thing that makes me love this phorum... some random guy that loves PG, buys a blown 10.00 amp and because of the common love, gets the info on how to fix the amp and joins the ranks of phorum LE owners.

too fricken cool.

eric will prolly get it straight for you or buy it from you for even a lil profit for your pocket... either way you're in good hands now- 1 way or another you'll have a resolution that you will like with this amp here

You have problem with 15V supply. One of the op-amp IC’s leaking, shorted, unbalance or something shorted +/- 15 Volts supply to ground. I can fix that if you want. I have been worked for Phoenix Gold for more than 19 years repairing Phoenix Gold stuff before company was sold to AAMP of America. I start my own business and we can repair any Phoenix Gold, AudioSource or CarverPro amps or signal processors.

Nice score! Have one of the guys here fix it for you... In working condition they are worth decent coin. No need to risk it.

Valeks1, welcome! I am sure you will have a great time here :) We might pick your brain to death as well.
