Okay, i checked on some website for theses, but didn't find anything that was pleasing me.

I'm basicly looking to spend maybe 150-200$ at most on theses.

What i need is :

1 set of 3.5 speaker, have to be 8 ohm or 2 ohm
2 sets of 5.25 speakers, have to be 8 ohm or 2 ohm
1 set of 5x7 speaker, have to be 8 ohm or 2 ohm

The reason for the ohm is simple : In a volvo, all speakers are 8ohm and each ¨pair¨ is connected in parallel. So the front dash and front door speakers are in parallel for each side, and the back door and rear door and rear pillar speakers are in parallel for each side. They have to be either all 8ohm or all 2ohm, so i can wire them together. Not in a hurry to find them, since the old ones in her car still works, but they are like 3watts and start to show wears.

The new ones are going to be connected straight to the deck, no amp to power them, so i don't need powerfull speakers. Just something that will get the job done.

You should always avoid putting speakers in series. For voicecoils it's ok, but between subwoofers the impedance of the first affects the signal received by the second. So 8 ohms is a must in your case.

Since you are looking for 8 ohm speakers I suggest you try out PartsExpress.com or Solen.ca and put some home speakers in there.

I'd be curious to know how it sounds... Tang Band makes some cool speakers! I have little full range 2" drivers (which are mostly phase plug) and they sound crystal clear! The 6x9 subwoofers in my trunk can keep up with the 12" as well! They make amazing stuff for the money.

Dayton also makes decent gear, and there are lots of other options as well. Have a look around and see what you can find.

now it is bad to wire speakers in parallel? Did I miss the memo? In parallel they would share the exact same signal at the same time, series would put the signal through one speaker and then through the other but still never heard not to do this.

Ok, i've found what i wanted!

Will be :

2 x Dayton ND90-8 3-1/2" Aluminum Cone Full-Range Driver
6 x Pyle Pro PDMR5 5-1/4" Sealed Back Midrange

I will have to fit the 2 on the back, but that's no big deal! Should make a good difference in sound! Not looking for pure SQ here, just a better sound before the current speakers dies...

Total : 140$ before shipping, not too bad!

ok I gotcha then but I still have not heard this before to tell the truth. Why would they advertise DVC subs as 2 or 8 ohms.

With shipping, it'll cost me 190$, so like 200$ CAD, not too bad for 8 speakers, it's like 25$ a speaker, still a pretty good deal to me!

I wouldn't recommend the Pyle's myself... for a few dollars more there are much better Daytons, or cheaper Peerless drivers such as:

Also that Dayton full-range sacrifices a bit of top end (15k-20kHz) to gain a bit of low end extension. But considering you are running it with 5.25's, I think you would benefit the most from having a full range 3.5 to produce some treble. The Tang Band I suggested above was a better fit in that case, since they play surprisingly well up to 20kHz.

I took the pyle ones cuz i have a 6x9 set in my car and the work like a charm! But then i checked and thoses Peerless looks good too so i might take theses since the Pyles ones are B/O

I would not run pyle subs man you will always wonder what happened if you went a little better quality.

I would nix the speakers in the very back and use the money for some better subs. You will not notice much from them while driving and use power that again could go to making the subs sound better.

Voice coils are designed to be run in series or parallel because it is essentially one coil. Speakers shouldn't be because the characteristics such as phace and impedance of the first speaker in the series will affect the second. Something I learned from stipud a long time ago. Another couple interesting factoids I recently learned from an old adire audio site: 1) A dual voice coil speaker wired backwards will not beat the shit out of it self like I used to think, in fact it the energy would simply cancel out and you would have nothing. 2) A dvc speaker can be run on one coil without harm, it is just not usually beneficial because it changes many parameters of the driver. When I read both of those I was very surprised.

I will install a 10in XS104DVC in the car, so bass is not a big deal. I'd prefer having better high/vocal out the speakers
