If you had to choose one amp for your system, which would you choose, and why? (not including the 1 of a kind amp, i.e. mph6300)

zx950 or outlaw both have more than enough power for todays subs. if i could get my hands on a old rf punch pro 12 then i would use my rt66.

Ti 500.4 (or zx450, zx475ti). any of these can run an entire system that sounds great and really cranks. you can use the front channels to run both your front and rear speakers, bridge the rear channels for sub duty OR use the front channels to run your components, bridge the rear channels for sub duty but use your head unit to power your rear fill speakers... just my lincoln twins.
If talking about LE amps, I have long wanted to try the roadster 66: 78x4 + 650x1

MS1000. Massive power to some good passive comps up front and depending on sub(s), either run them each on a channel or bridge it.
If it would not fit in my car, I would size down to Ti500.4AL or M44. Both of which I have run my system on and they both sounded fantastic!

So the top choice so far would be a Reactor/zx950

the way i see it only one amp would be a compromise but the roadster amp would be less of a compromise.

I was just curious. I've seen quite a few people with many different amps, and just wonder what people would choose if they could only choose one.

manly from a system design stand point in order for most amps to reach full potential you would need one more amp.but if reaching full potentential is not what your trying to do then most amps above would work just as well.

i beleive you can reach an amps full potential(ie reactor, or roadster 66) as a single amp, imho

I might go the route of an MPS2500. Run it as low as you can get it impedance wise and possible liquid cool it!
MS275, MS2250ta, MS2125TA, Bandit, M44, ZX200, EQ215, EQ230, TX2, PDL1, TBAT Trans+Recvr w/cable

yea liquid cooled is the way to go because an installer told me he took his MPS2500 down to 1/8 ohm and the carpet in his trunk lit on fire.
