ZPX xover modifications- 6-12db drop ?

Hi :)

I´m installing a Zero Point component set (ZPT25 & ZPM160 -ZPX xover) into a Nissan Patrol. The original speaker setup has the 6.5" mounted low in the doors - and the tweeter up in the pillars.

I´m having serious soundstage probs mostly due to the unusual proximity and loudness of tweeter in the pillar.

The ZPX only has a 3db max drop for the tweets - is it possible to modify them so that they will drop more (6-12db) ?

All and any ideas appreciated.

I would try to move the tweeter down by the woofer first.... I have the same arrangement in my mustang so I just lost the tweeter location and went 3 ways in the kicks/door.

I have thought about moving the tweeter, but then I´m probably better off buying new 2way speakers for the door.

I also thought of building a kickpanel setup - i´m just in the early stages of this project and was going to try different placements before committing to anything.

It would be nice to be able to drop the tweeter level another 3db´s just to convince myself that it´s not the way to go.

Maybe the long route is the fastest one :)
