eq215ix or 232

I've got an eq232, but still need to get a xover. I was thinking of the zpx2 to match the rest of what I have, but was also considering getting rid of the 232 for a 215ix instead to solve the xover problem.

My question is, would you use the eq232 and xover, or simply get the eq215ix?

I personally wouldn't give up the processing power in exchange for an onboard crossover. Of course every system design has different requirements that make the outcome a bit different every time. Does the eq215ix meet all of your filter needs for the system? If not, you're looking at another piece in the mix anyhow.

Im not sure to be honest, which is why im asking. If the 232 with an additional xover is the best way, then that is the way I will go. Just wasn't sure if it made much difference going with the 215 instead.

Does the 215ix have the same balanced cable inputs as the 232?

No, I don't believe so. I wouldn't be running it balanced anyways, running rca's.

so im guessing they may not have made a 215 with balanced cable like the 232.
