Sound Buggy Forum

I know it's been discussed previously, but there was a wealth of infomation that had accumulated over the years on Sound Buggy that would be very nice to reference occasionally. It has been forever since I wanted to search for something, but I just tried to check it out again and realized that nothing is accessible anymore. I understand it had become dormant and there were costs involved with keeping things up and running, but I'm really hoping that all the info is still intact and that Tom could host it or something so we don't all miss out on a great resource and an important stage of our online community.
Eric, Tom, is this something that can be managed? Is there any reason something like this wouldn't be feasible?

I think the forum is still as it was, just with a different name or something to make it no longer accessible. I can ask my friend who set it up, if something can be done with it.
I don't think it is worth it though, there really is not any info there which is not somewhere here.

I have no idea how difficult the process would be, but I still think that it would be worth it!

Yip, been there and sure as heck done that.
Ive been hanging around online since halfway the 90's, and have seen so many excellent sites disappear over time.
Thankfully some people took action and tried to figure out ways to archive as many websites as they could at any given time.
Of course there are limits, and this way of archiving has to be taken within reason.
Amount of active sites globally is
estimated around 300 miljon today.
The space they need for storage will be mindbending for sure.
Simple text doesn't take more then kilobytes, but whenever pictures and movies come into the equation we're talking megabytes, and lots of them.
Anyway, drifting off again...
Try this:
http://web.archive.org/web and paste
http://www.soundbuggy.com/forum/index.php in the search field at the top.
These guys are around since 1996(ish), and have an impressive archive stored.
Due to storage limitations of course you won't find pictures or anything related.
It also has trouble one way or the other with anything other then your basic HTML.
However with some luck and/or >>
creative URL editting<< you can treat yourself with some nostalgic reading.
Even if trying to get back into soundbuggy blows up, try other sites while you're at it, great fun.

Yeah, I mentioned hosting it before, but really I meant something like archiving it. I wouldn't expect anybody to try to get it up and running again just for reference.
That's handy. Thanks Marcelbofh

No prob matey.
Btw, forgot to mention it's nowhere near complete though, it's just snapshots over a certain time period.
But still, anything is better then nothing at all right?
