EQ232 problem

Post by idj-uk »

Hello, I gotta problem with my EQ232. The unit worked fine when initially set up, but after a while all I got was static through the right side. When I pushed the eq defeat button the system played normally. I heard that it's a common problem and that it's the output pots. can anyone confirm this, if so do they have the pot part numbers?

Thanx in advance

the pots are often self cleaning. When power is turned off, simply take and turn them back and forth a good 20-30 times and then see if that will clean them up.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

This has been done a lot, I even went as far as elecrical contact cleaner. I'm told that the carbon tends to break away in them. Unfortunately it looks like I'm going to have to replace them :-(

is there any writting on the pots? also are you sure its the pots? Does the static change when you adjust or even tap on them?

I'm sure it's the pots as the static alters when the pots are adjusted. I had the same problem while the unit was under warantee, but now the unit is out of it, I may as well source and solder myself.
As I'm working away from home at moment, I've not got access to the unit, thought it was worth a shot on here to possibly find a part number and source them for when I get home.
