Looks like it's just the one amp listed twice, smells fishy to me to be honest.
Either the deal is completely bogus, or he relisted it with the updated information and forgot to take off the first listing.

Not sure about the v2 bit though, anyone?

D'oh, totally missed that, good catch.

Think I need some more coffee still, before I go and post replies like the one above...

Turns out Shinju over at diymoblieaudio is selling this one clicky

Getting curious about that v2 on it.
I'm guessing it's probably due to optimised internals after the initial release.
The extra v2 stamped on it was probably meant to let the buyer know which one of the two revisions they held in their hands.

The amps went through some revisions. A few parts were updated/changed (can't remember what) and the fans went from an 11 blade (v1) to a 7 blade (v2).

I thought the different fan blades were for the v2 series of the 0.X amps

i have kinda wanted to know if the reason for the V.2 was for reliablity issues like it was for the ZPA's or was it for another reason?

they made changes to it but I can't remember why. If I had to choose I would go for the V2 first of course...

The biggest noticeable change is the way the rail caps are mounted, in the v2 they are mounted to a daughter card, in the original versions they were mounted directly to the board.....and yes there are V1 ZX450's as well as 500's. I probably have a pic around here on my external hard drive.

i wonder if the big caps on the V.2 may be bigger so maybe thats why they mounted them sideways on the board or am im getting to deep?

The rail caps would be under that card that controls the x-overs, as I recall they are the same size caps in both the v1 and v2.....the board layout was just a bit different. In the zx200 the x-over card doesn't sit above the rail caps at all, it's mounted to the board off to the left of the rail caps, on the zx250 the x-over card went to that " overhead " style it has now.

V1 or V2 has nothing to do with the rail caps mounting. A ZX450 V1 and V2 has them both on daughter cards. Same for the ZX200 and ZX250, and ZX350. Only the ZX500 has them mounted direct on the board, and both the V1 and V2 ZX500 are done this way.

V2 amps use a better crossover control potentiometer (if you are lucky, I still find V2 amps with the V1 pot installed in them), they have much better fans, and I believe the way the fan operates is different (but never confirmed this). On V1 amps the fan is on a plug, on V2 it is soldered. V2 amps use a better quality ribbon cable from the x-over daughter card to the board. There are probably a few other differences, but they don't seem to be all that consistent.

I find a lot of V2 ZX amps which use WIMA caps throughout.

Randy, the ZX200 does not have a crossover. Those boards to the left are the preamp boards for each channel, and both the ZX200 and ZX250 have them.

Nothing shady about those amps as I'm the seller. I'm over on DIYMA under the same username. I've been on here for a few months but just lurking.

I had a bunch (5) of V1 ZX500's back in the day, when PG started making the V2 amps, my dealer offered to send mine in and have them converted. Since I had one spare, I sent them in one at a time, they all came back with the V2 fan upgrade. I can't recall if my cases had v2 on them when they came back, but I seem to think they did put new lids on them. Anyhow, they did it, at least for me, for no charge. That leads me to believe it was in an attempt to fix a reliability issues. It for sure may explain why there is a mish-mash of parts in some V2 amps-- they were V2'ed after the fact.

Oh, and I had a Zx250, V1, that had WIMAs in it, so I'm thinking that isn't specific to the v2's either.

Later,
Jason
