Need some help for my new system

Hi All:
I am a new guy just purchase my new car recently!! I planed to upgrade my sound system soon!!

Headunit: Alpine IVE-502E
Front/back: Boston Pro60SE or JBL GTi speakers
Subwoofer: JBL Gti 15" MKII
Amp: Roaster 66 x 1
The question was is the single amp able to support the system? which speaker whould you using for the system?

The roadster is basically a RSd 500.4 and a RSd 600.1 in one package, correct? So you should get 75x4 and 400x1 @4ohms. So it should sound good. I got almost the same setup, minus the 15", I just have a 12". 400watts might be a little low for the sub, but it shouldn't sound too bad. If you can wire the sub to 2ohms, you can get more power out of the amp, just watch out for heat. I don't know how well it will handle the added heat... If the RSd stuff is anything like the xenon/ti/zx stuff, from what I have read it is, it should be able to handle it. My 400.2 is running at 2 ohms pushing 500watts and get's warm, but not hot. Never has thermalled, and I have pushed it hard for a few hours to test it.

Other than that, it looks like you got some decent gear, lets see some pics of it all!

If you haven't bought the gear, look into the RSd line of speakers. The RSd 6.5CS components are supposed to be fantastic, and can be had for easily $100 shipped. Then the sub I would get a 12" RSdc, 4ohm DVC, so I can wire it down to 2ohms. Great sub, and can be easily had for less than $150 shipped. That's my plan when I upgrade here soon. Can't beat the price and performance of the RSd stuff!

the roadster should run all that just fine... the JBL is a dual 6-ohm sub, so if you run the sub in parallel you'll get a 3-ohm load and should get 500+ to it. Some will say thats not enough... though at one point I ran an Orion XTR DVC with an MS275 and it POUNDED so I think you will be fine, JBL makes a great sub.

If you are looking for input on stuff to get, thats a whole different can of worms... There are lots of questions to ask/answer like:
Budget?
Listening Style
Music?

My budget build recommendation is:
no rear fill - confuses the sound stage and can muddy the sound
RSDc Comp set (80.00 - 100.00)
Roadster66 (ebay for 450.00 shipped)
RSDc 12 - dual 4-ohm - (125 - 150.00 or so)

just bridge the Roadster 4-channel down to 2-channel and run your components off that and have plenty of headroom

If your budget is higher, the options open up rapidly.

So none of you guys recom. either JBL & Boston speaks, why?? Last time I ever hear a Boston speaker sound was like 10 years ago when I still have my GC8 Sti....!

Ops, sorry, I now dont have any budget for the system and most of the time i listens to so hip-hop & trance music...

I would recommend any boston speakers, ive always loved boston, but price to performance the rsd's are unbeatable. If you are shopping in the 100 dollar range i cant imagine you will find a better component set. The rsdc 12's are the same, great performance for the modest price you pay for them. I personally have a boston g3 twelve that i like alot, but if I was to spend the money again I would spend it on an rsdc. As far as the roadster goes you cant go wrong, it's everything you need in one sexy chassis. i say go with some rsdc's unless your budget is high, then go with some of the new Ti line components and sub or maybe some boston z components and a g5.

I have grown fond of the nicer Boston components and subs over the last few years. The G5's have been discontinued, but the G3's are more recent and imho a bit more refined anhow. They are typically quite a bit more expensive than the rsdc's, but there are some great prices on Crutchfield right now for anyone that's interested.
