How to tell if a sub is blown

Just found this on youtube and thought it might help guys n girls that are new to car audio scene, a bit! He has lots of other lessons too! Maybe a thread for car audio basics would do his job. Even though he´s using kicker gear to show of :oops:

he never mentioned my fav way to tell, the sniff test. You will often smell it if a coil is burned.

Does he have a easy test to see if an amp still works? :o

I like the sniff test myself...

If someone sells you a woofer that smells like colongne...LEAVE IT ALONE!!

Took my digital voltmeter out:

Now how the hell do I measure ohms with my digital voltmeter? :doh:

Also, it sounds like it's vital that I hook up the negative lead to the negative terminal and the positive lead to the positive terminal. :lol: :twisted:
