Recommend a three-way front stage

I need help. I have a friend who is willing to give me his cyclone.

Unfortunately, my current front stage, Quart reference 6 inch, will not provide near enough mid-bass.
I do not want to run an extra speaker wires so I'm looking for a three-way set up with around an 8 inch midbass and a passive crossover. He is willing to do all of the install work and has the ability to make custom door panels or kick panels if necessary. (Nothing too extreme, I don't want to kill the poor guy).
The system will be a run using my two new toys a black ZX450 the front (it is a minivan, don't complain about rear fill

) and a black ZX500 for the cyclone.
I'm somewhat price sensitive, but because I'm getting the cyclone and install for free I'm not against the $700 range, but if you can recommend something a little less expensive than Dynaudio I am all for it.

Bi-amp a Dyn System 362. Prob best 3-way set out there for under 2 grand.
If you go to a local shop they usual qoute around 900-950 for the set and IMO nothing will come close unless you ues DIY speakers fully active.
YOU WILL NEED A 8" MID IMO too with the cyclone. The new Dyns are getting the title of king of the midbass from the reviews I've read. Save up little extra cash the extra $200 will be worth it.

I used to have a Cyclone and I ran 8" XMAX subs for mid-bass. All I could say is go for Ti Elite 9-5-1 and run the extra set of wires

The only problem with that is the availability of the pieces. It will sound nice but may be a little too hard to come by these days.

I have not even seen a 9-5-1 for sale in a while. Assuming I could find one, I could probably shift the rear fill to an old left over XS2300 I already have. I would still have to run an extra set of speaker wire to the front. This is not an easy thing to do in my car as the floor has already been lowered 10 inches to accommodate a wheelchair and there is no carpet.

I have to 3rd the vote for Dyns. Another to look at is CDT. A local here has 2 sets of 8" 3 ways in his doors. Sounds real good.

I believe the reason he doesn't want to go active is because he would have to run extra wire, which he is trying to avoid.
Sounds like he wants to use current run of speaker wire to a passive xover, then run wire to the three speakers from there.
tetraag-glad to see you posting over here.

You've heard them all, which do you recommend in his price range. Keep in mind his power (ZX450).

Probably not. It would entail purchasing more amps and running more wire. I'll take a look at the Dynaudio, the CDT page looked promising, but navigating it is another matter.

I would say try the focal polyglass v2 series. They have a 3 way system using an 11" midbass, 5.25" midrange, and a 1" tweeter. It is model number 270V3.
Here is focal's site.

And I found them for sale at woofersetc. com. for $630.00 Here's a link.

DO NOT BUY DLS, DYN, MOREL, or FOCAL online.
There has been tons of fakes going around.

cheap - JL audio
Mid - DLS
High - Morel or Dynaudio
The older Boston Pro are pretty sweet if you can find them in good condition on ebay
