bass cube is dead

Not sure what happened but the basscube I got is dead. It has power although the light is a little dim. I have tried 2 different remotes, different cables(both phone and rca) but I get no output from it. I have a meter, actually just ordered a silly-scope is there anyone out there that can help me try and fix it myself?

Is it the black one or the white one that's not working properly? I sold the white one and you two were going to swap cubes.

yea the black one probably got thrown by the shippers or something, I am sure it was not sent like this to begin with and he has even offered to swap them out. Either way we still need to get this one fixed. i touched up some cold solder ponts that I hoped were stopping it but no luck.

I already took a look inside and I do not see any burned traces or anything else that looks outta place. There was a high powered resistor that had a cold solder joint that I touched up but it still didn't help any.

i would look very closely at the power supply section you know the area surrounding the power torriod mostly if the resistors are discolored they could be blown. but sometimes you cant see if its bad from the top i knew a electronic repairman in the military that said a resistor can sometimes have a burnt spot on the bottom and be impossible to see from the top but still be bad. also the diodes in that section protect it from when someone hooks it up backwards they will blow before everything else gets fubar the thing is its harder to see if their bad buy just looking at them hope this may help a little.

dvnt88 you had the white one packed so well i just repacked it with the black one. even if it does not start working finding a replacement one should not be hard since i have a remote.

man it is an unfortunate situation that happened as I was doing the favor of letting you have the white one you wanted. I guess it is just the perfect example of no good dead goes unpunished....
I hate to make you pay for the repair, and on the other hand I paid enough that it would be understood that it should be a working unit. Not sure what to do to make it right.
