PG MS-2125 bridged @ 2ohm problem???

Post by attackdog »

:idiot:
Hi all. I just bought an MS-2125 online and am trying to bridge 2 15" subs @ 2ohms to it and it doesnt sound good at all. I have an extra battery and will be adding a 6farad capacitor so I know power is not the issue. Am I doing something wrong or does the amp need to be set up a different way to be able to run that kind of load. Thanks.

What about 4ohm stereo. I have never run subs in stereo mode. Will this be good enough to make 2 15's pound? Thanks.

a cap won't do anything, the amp should be ok at 2ohms mono and pg stated it would do 720 wrms with this load. just pay attention to cooling 8)

TA should be the same, should be good for 2 ohms mono with care.

regardless if the amp is TA or not i would be concerned about the amps health if that amp has sustained prolonged abuse its not going to perform well. suppose someone ran it 1 ohm bridged for any length of time the amp would have been very hot and stressed out the components. heat stress over time deminishes the amps components mostly the capacitors suffer and when they start going bad its a downward spiral from there.

you can run it at 2 ohms no problem just make sure that u have solid connections, should make sure u have some amperage though that thing will pull about 90amps at full tilt, i tested it before at 2 ohms on two 15s
with a vat 40.

most important though is to keep it cool so i would get some 9 inch crossflow fans and then let it blow.
You may have subs in your car........but my doors sound better!

Thanks everyone. I got it running at 2ohms. It turned out that I had a bad RCA cable that was cutting off the right channel. Where would I get the 9inch crossflow fans? Thanks again.
