I just bought a pair of ID mini horns, anyone know a good midbass to compliment?

Umm....yes!!! I have the perfect mids for you! I set of "ID CX62"... I put quotes because they are different from normal ID CX62. They have a poly cone and dust cap as opposed to the carbon cone and phase plug. They are OEMed by ID for a marine speaker company. I bought them on ebay to use with some mini-horns I had, but I changed plans and sold the horns to Errin and still have the mids here. I can dig up pics somewhere. I would sell them for $150 shipped. I had the CXS 62 components in the car for a while, and loved them! They are dynamic, fast, and clear....and will play LOUD.

If you don't take Audiophiliac up on his offer, you could use the RSd 6.5, Ti9m, IDQ6, and several options from DIY drivers. Essentially any mid with a strong midbass that can play up to 1k without breakup, however they would only be playing to 300hz in a perfect world (depending on which horns exactly).

Errin - horns are the ID CD1E v.2 Minihorns, Eric at ID recommended crossing them over in the 1000-1200 hz range.

Audiophiliac- I'll consider that if you can come down a bit, a pair of the carbon fiber woofers like the ones you're mentioning just sold on ebay for 112 dollars and they are essentially brand new. PM me some pics.

well these were pretty cheep, if I really like the horny sound (ha ha ha) then I'll upgrade in the near future, this is mostly to test the water.

If you can get them installed and tuned right you won't go back. Make certain you have an EQ handy as you'll very likely need it, horns really don't play well with hard surfaces like glass so they tend to get shrill in some areas.
