rear seat delete complete!

Post by ttocs »

finally got my gear back from being repaired and got it in and tuned. The imprint took a little time to play with but I am really happy with the sound it gave me in the end. Soundstage is definitly higher and just smoother all around. I went with the Zero point sign under the eq but I can always swap it for something else later if I want to. I ordered a remote controlled 7 color led strip that can do stobe and couple of other effects and it wil take a week or two to get here. With the light under it the letters and a 1/8" boarder around the silver will light up what ever color the led is. I went on last night just to see what a solid color led stripe would cost and this was just as cheap somehow sooo...

Love it Scott........

2 things..............

1. Why didn't you remove the seatbelts?
2. Is it the angle of the pic or is the grey vynyl off level with the side panel.

If I didn't have kids, and this wasn't my DD, I'd delete my rear seat too........

I considered pulling the belts out too but didn't pull the quarter panels out yet. I am going to add some deadoner around those areas and will pull them then.

YOU FOUND MY PROBLEM! To get enough space for the eq, I had to move the back end up a little less then a quarter inch, resulting in that difference. I am considering sliding the eq a little further forward to see if I could get that 1/4" back and have it even.

That whole area is temporary for now as I am going to be putting the roadster where the esp3, dd5 and the cube currently are and will just take that panel and turn it arond so it is covering the back of the roadsters wiring.

thanks fellas and don't be afraid to hold back pointing out stuff that looks off or incorrect. It might be something I have somehow missed and can still correct.

Making the roadster easily removable is going to take a little more time to sort out. With the weight of that bitch I would like to use some kind of metal frame to ensure that it is supported well enough with its weight. To keep the total weight of the rack/amp down obviously aluminum comes to ming but would need some kind of L-channel to pull it off. I have been looking around, now I need to find someone that can teach me to weld on this project.

I hope to take the box out sometime this week and start modifying it for the rsdc104s. Shouldn't be too big of a deal to cut some rings and glass them in. The box is covered with carpet so it will not need a lot of sanding, can't weight to hear those suckers and hear what a difference they will make. It will be interesting to compair the sound graph from the imprint before and after and "see" the difference

Maybe you could put the roadster in place of the rear-seat bottom cushion....... Under plexi ofcoarse..... 8) I understand the theft factor but showing that off would add tons of style points IMO...... 8) And maybe you could weld the frame so that it anchors to the seatbelt bolts for both strength and security..... :hmm:

If I did a delete, I'd do just that..... Raise the amp a touch so I could put 2 motorcycle sized kinetik batteries and some other goodies in there to centralize the majority of the install to the cabin.... No real issues in there and you get to see it on a more regular basis........

I considered that place but I really like having access to the eq by simply turning around a little bit. tuning from the drivers seat is always great when it can be acheived. I am fairly sure the amp will go in the location the DD5, esp3 and the cube are behind the light-up logo, I would love to motorize that door... Now sure about the look otherwise, I might flushmount it or maybe on a piece of lit plexi underneath it, ect.

Can't wait to see the zero point sign to light up and change colors/flash

any ideas how I should mount it(flush/plexi/ect).
