Alpine help

Post by pnyryd »

I have an alpine IXA W 404 in my Chevy Trailblazer
The problem I'm having is the unit appears to be Loosing power IE on then off over and over this does not happen all the time but when it does I have to remove the fuse and try again sometimes it's ok but it will do it again
I bench test it and I can't get it to duplicate the problem
Any ideas?

that is a strange one, never heard of this yet. it isn't a short, replacing the fuse resets it?
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

This unit requires a PAC part that shows the vehicle is in park "some video thing" I'm thinking the volts are dropping due to multiple connections.

Anyone agree before I start rewiring?

hook it back up and then try to manipulate the hrns and see if you can recreat the problem. Tug/pull/wiggle the wires and the hrns's especially at the connections to see if you can get it to do it again in your hands. If that doesn't do anything then try some technical taps on the radio itself to see if something is loose inside.

I think I might have a schematic for that unit if that will help, gimme a couple days to get home and I will check for you.
Check my buyer/seller ratings http://phoenixphorum.com/gridracer-vt4548.html
