They will still service them until the parts no longer allow. For the price I got it for, it should give me a few years (3-4) of service.

not service, but update the nav maps? When I lived in phoenix we had problems with navs that were 2-3 yrs old not knowing new roads that had been added. I suspect that the map disk that you have with it is already a few years old and now to not be able to update it any further would just make it worse.

There's an update disc for it, I'll be looming on ebay in search for them. New they're ~$300

For the places I would go and use it for, the maps that come w/it will be good enough until I can find the updated discs.

That's a hell of a price but haven't seen great reviews from people buying from them at another forum.

p.s. my Kenwood DNX9140 is awesome that is all.

I've NEVER been a fan of Kenwood. They've been on the border of looking cheap to me. I don't know how many HU's I've seen where the volume/function knob has fallen off.

All the reviews I've seen of the 6610, the predecessor to the 6620, have been nothing but great. 4/4.5 out of 5. I however can not speak on behalf of the Pioneer. My local dealer loves the Pioneers and TODAY I played w/the one he just put in his Rav4, that thing was slow as hell. To look up a POI took 5 mins. Screw that.

I haven't found a Kenwood yet that I like. Sorry, that's just me.

No, there's just better then that out there. :hmm:

I got it today. I was disappointed that it didn't come w/the GPS antenna that he stated would, but I was very pleased to see that it came w/the 2nd most updated NAV disc, vers 3.1, vers 3.2 is the latest. I've been watching them on ebay and the 3.1/3.2 vers are selling ~$125 +/- $25. So I just bought another GPS antenna and if he sends the other one to me I'll either sell it or keep it for a back up. I emailed him to inform him of this "booboo" and I haven't checked back to see if he has replied yet.

I hooked it up to my power supply to play w/it a bit. Can't wait to get it in, but it'll take almost 2 more weeks before I can get it in. I'm waiting on parts, ie the dash trim bezel. My digital camera quit working so it'll be a bit before I can get some pics up.

On another note: I was informed today that my amp will be here next Wed. Can't wait for that to get here. For those that don't recall, Audison LRx5.1k
