well! this is some crazy shit. ive been meanin to make a post about my new amp. the funny thing is i just bought joergs ms1000ta to turn it into a original. im takin 2250 boards out and lookin at all the amps and up pops a new in the crate NICKEL #95. i had to have it... i got lucky and won the bid. when the amp got here and i opened it. i was stuned...... i couldnt stop lookin at it. i even went to bed with it.. after a few days of me lookin at boards i came up with a thought. make twinz! i went and started lookin at all the other boards i have an noticed something crazy................... one of my 22505's is 821. one of the boards in my nickel match the board in my 2250 100%. what the hell is goin on? thats crazy! 820 is in the nickel. so what in doin now is makin the 2250 nickel to match the ms1000. i will post some picts here soon. my plan is to copy it to look just like the ms1000.

okay wait - im confused...
nickel #95-
I heard/tell that there were only 50 of nickels made- 20 of which were custom (which the one you got off ebay is one of the 20) as it doesnt have the blue plexi, green transformers/wires, etc etc

so nickel #95? are we learning now of more than 50 having been made of these?

AND now you have two?? im confused.  :?

not sure I support the idea of taking a TA and swapping it out for original boards to be honest. It would be the closest thing to a counterfit that there could be, not sure I see the idea behind it as you uld ruin the value of the TA obviously and certainly would not be worth as much as an original.... What is the point?

and also the originals didnt have clamp bars
as like the TA's did and would be forced to use if using a ta sink...
UNLESS one would like to drill & tap the proper holes...BUT let me tell you from past experience - THAT IS A ROYAL PIA...
OR go with the clamp bars which i think you mentioned you were going to do... but then it is not qui8te an original... but being gold plated it's not original anyways- as it is nickel that would be original...

counterfeit?? well that might be a lil harsh as far as a term to classify it..but i can understand ones feelings about that though... but it is planned to get gold plated- so it wouldnt be counterfeit insomuch as the word would "counterfeit" intimate... as PG never did an MS1000 in gold plate. does that make sense?

BUT perhaps brings us to all the work i do and have been doing...
what about these amps that we have been re-coating applying artwork to...
restored or counterfeit? :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:

ah I didn't know about the gold plated. that would make it different for sure and if that is the case I could see why it would be different/fun to do and could look killer as well.

thing is tho if you were making these to sell then you would be counterfeiting
as it is you would never make back the time efoort and expense anyway so why would you?

right and i think that a restoration be it custom or OEM restore is just that- a restoration. and counterfeit amps would be more along the lines of what thump or audiovox did in the past IMO IYAM

well! im going to keep it and make it look the way i see it. i will be posting picts.

in this topic i am making a ms2250 to match the nickel i just got. the board in the 2250 is the next board made after the nickel. all three boards are the same, but the 2250 has green transformers.
