On JOMA (crap) you can see on them that he didn't remove anything under them
in the corners of all of them you can see were the powder coat was off and just covered(crap IMO). I would hate to see how much rust will come through in the first year

I have two MS2250 sinks at home which have been nickel plated at 125eur a piece at a shop close to me that came out like they where done by PG themselfes. Looks like the sinks on your pictures have not been polished prior to plating to me.

now you know why PG charged so much, plating is very difficult at best of time never mind the intricate nature of the MS sinks. they should never be blasted with anything and chemical stripping the way IMO..

 A pitty Matt, since you've put so much work in this research. I'll ask the gold-plater here if he has some ideas.
Also we have a shop that chromes parts for us, and these guys work miracles on rusted parts; they come back like new.
We do sand- and glassblasting ourselves on small parts that fit into our machines, but I know for sure the surface afterwards is not suitable to be coated with a thin layer of anything. The texture will show defenately.
I agree with Eric that the original sinks came out extruded and only needed minor polishing [if ever] and good degreasing before they could be nickel-plated.
I think if you want a powder-coated sink to be annodized, or chromed or whatever you'd need to remove the powdercoat chemically to be able to perform the job with a good endresult.
As I heard that new sinks are in the making......that could well bring the solution for those of you in need of a new nickel.
Just my 2 cents.

No to be an ass towards your plating guy Matt, but i´ve been at my plater today. I showed him the pictures and he clearly said that whoever did that job plated a rough surface that has been sand or soda or whatever blasted. The surface needs to be polished before your guy starts plating it. He should have known that and told u when having a business like that.

To let u know how it could look like, here are a few pictures of a job my plater has done for me earlier this year.

This is what the plating company that we are using told me as well.

Right now one of them is finished and i´m working out a deal with a respected member here to purchase one more and convert it to a Nickel Beauty as well. Thats why i needed the enplates without the master slave holes from u. I want theses two MS2250 to match the MS1000 Nickel i have.
