Fuggit! I'm going active!

I'm getting tired of auditioning amps and trying to get things the way I want it. tired of passive crossovers eating up my amp power and leaving me pissed off! I've decided to go completely active on my frontstage. The DRZ9255 has the ability to run a completely active frontstage and I'm going to utilize it. Here's what I'm contemplating...

Soundstream Class A 6.0 on tweeters (CDT DRT-26)
Phoenix Gold M-25 on midrange (CDT ES-4)
Soundstream Class A 6.0 on midbass (CDT ES-6)

Any suggestions?

These arent for sure amps that I'll use but it's a thought. I'm also considering this:

Zapco C2K 2.5x running mids and tweets active
Some smaller amp to run midbass (ES-6)

The Zapco setup will be more cost effective for me considering that I'd have to buy and sell to make this happen..

I've ran active once in my life and I tell you... I've never heard my setup sound better. Waaaaaay wider soundstage, improved dynamics.. you name it. I guess I just didn't want the hastle but now that I'm running the DRZ9255 it makes it easy for me. Give me some feedback guys... steer me in the right direction please. I'm so friggin tired of swapping out shit.

No question at all.....Active is the way to go. I have been 100% active for about 20 years. It isn't always in the specs but I think 2nd order Linkwitz/Riley slopes sound the best.

Get a class A for the midrange too so you can match. A well matching install is more important than sound quality to me

hehe. I'm not too concerned about the amps matching. I just want it to balance nice and sound the way I want. I know what you mean though :D

I'm gunshy on the SS 6.0 amps. I have a person that will sell them to me but I need to sell a few of my other amps to raise the coin.

I am not sure I would recomend completely different amp lines to run a set of active componants honestly.

I will most likely run the same amp line for the mids and tweets and maybe another on the midbass.

Dammit! I don't have room on my rack to do the active setup I want. I would have to replace my sub amp with something smaller and purchase differnt amps and blah blah blah. grrr. I really wanted to go active on this one. oh well... I'll go active on my other car... I have some Q-series components that I'm piecing together into a sweet 3-way set. I'm just going to pump a load of power into my frontstage to get the performance I'm looking for.
