no matter what power you give the sub the box is 80-90% of the problem
you need a good strong right sized box or you will never be able to tell.
power 300watt rms will make it sound good not be super loud but it all music taste ect.
Stipud uses his with only 250 i have heard it very clean and does what it need to do in his car set up

What specifically are you looking for? More output?

For a 10, .5-.6cuft is all it needs. For a 12, 1-1.2cuft. If your box is too big you can easily take up space with chunks of 2x4, blocks of styrofoam, etc. In any larger boxes the sub tends to sound boomy, and loses some of its uber-blending smoothness.

For me one 12 on 250w is more than enough to keep up with my front stage of 75x2. But my tastes differ from most people... I only like an extra 3-6dB in my bassline, at most, while I have found the majority of car audio listeners really prefer an outrageous 10-20dB range.

my box was bought before I got the sub...like days before I found one for sale ...thanks to bfowler....

anyhow..the box is like .80 or less...and I want to get it into a 1 cubic foot box really. I dont want to use more space than that.

I tried it with my ported box that is around 1.25 and it was louder but not as clean as with the sealed .

so I really need to get the box down right and go from there. I at one time had about 500 rms on it and another with 700 and it was about right in the small box.

but the box is my #1 issue right now. the ref300 is actually not too bad on it. I am sure if the box were right then it would be even better.

just trying to decide if I want to build one or buy one. I dont seem to have any free time anymore...

tried to take some vacation this coming week and somehow someone else has jacked that up

.8 is pretty small. You should just plug your ported box!

ha ha ...I am actually thinking about taking my ported box down to buddies and putting it on his table saw and slicing a few inches off it and putting a new back on it. length is pretty close to perfect just a little deeper than I need.....

but that might turn out too getto...

plus I want to build a new box to fit in a specific space in the trunk.
