Looking for an amplifier suggestion.

I am picking up a Cyclone and I am looking for a good pg 4ohm amplifier.
There is a ZX400 local that sould put out around 250ish at 8ohm and thats pretty much all the power I will need for the driver.
I also have a Zapco CK2 6.0x 2ohm version.
I am also going to be upgrading my front stage from my Alpine Type R's to a set of DLS UP6 Ultimate 6.5/tweets.
I know I am going to need a good strong front stage to bring the Cyclone to life.
Any other suggestions would be greatful!

ZPA 0.3 , M100 , MS125 , hell even an M50 will run a cyclone.
I think the C2k might be a tad too much .

I vote for the ZPA0.3 I hooked my 0.5 up to my Cyclone for about 1 hour. I just wanted to hear and justify the repair I did to the Cyclone. I could tell right away that it was to much for the Cyclone. The 0.3 should be right at home pushing that sub.

The cyclone does NOT need a lot of power.
A ZX350/Ti400.2 is a fine choice.

Yeah I am aware that it doesnt need a lot of power but that doesnt mean I cant use the extra headroom.
The Zapco you are right might be a little much, I might end up selling it.
I might just have to use my MB Quart DSC2150 untill I can find a suitible amp.
600rms 4ohm = 300rms 8ohm.
Thanks for the input so far, I'll have to check for those suggested amps.

With a "normal" subwoofer you will have imp rise.
As far as a Cyclone goes I have no idea if imp rise is the same, I am going to assume yes since this device will follow the ohms law.
I did a little testing with an 8 ohm and 4 ohm driver, The MB quart's output voltage was cut in half when running a 8 ohm driver vs a 4ohm.
I did notice that the amplifier ran hotter at 8ohm then it did 4ohm.

I bet a ZX500 would be too much bridged as well... It puts out more power than it is supposed to
The Discus should be right on for rated if you want to go that way.
An M50 would match well bridged I think. MS-75 too.
The Cyclone has a small frequency range so crossover accordingly.
Keep us posted

zx500 will be fine too, don't forget the clone is an 8ohm driver..

Ill keep this thread updated for sure!
Pillow I really like the zx500 I just cannot afford the 200 at the moment, audio sales have been super slow on the net and local.
I cannot even find a buyer for my ck2.6.0x! I have never had a problem selling any zapco equipment, economy economy economy : (

What midbass driver size would you suggest to comp the Cyclone? I was thinking 2 8" in the kick ex'd at 80-50 and have the 6.5 at 80 and above.
Thanks!

you do need some very strong mid bass so a set of nice non power hunger 8" would be great for the set up

I am in the process of picking 8"s as well. Efficiency wise the Dayton 8"s from PartsExpress seem very nice. Very nice price as well.
Also the Rainbow Plain X-200s on CACO right now have a lot of potential with the Neo motor.
More to come on the 8"s discussion

Yeah I am going to need a very shallow 8" midbass if I am going to do pods in the kick's.
I was looking at those daytons aswell.

Question.
The consensus here states that the highest you can cross the Cyclone off is 50hz since it cannot play above 50hz
Why does the manual state crossing off at 60hz is optimal?
