TO THE ORION FANS

ive got a line at the local pawn shop on an orion 250 sx, im guesssing its rated at a conservative 2x50. i do know that for the reight price its a good deal on some oldskool power.how dose it compare to the xtr and hcca or the nt's. its in really good shape soo calling randy, gx3, or anyone else......

The sx is the pre-xtr line. More or less the same quality as the XTR and HCCA lines just a little older model. Many people are misinformed or confused about the xtr and HCCA lines in that many think the HCCA are the "top of the line" for Orion. In all actuallity they are nearly the same amps. The real difference is the XTR is a "high voltage" design, and HCCA (High Current Competition Amplifier) is "high current". Niether has a better build quality than the other. The "NT" line however is/was truly Orion's "top of the line" and were engineered to higher tolerances.

That 250sx is a sweet little amp..no doubt :)

The other difference in the SX and XTR line is that the XTR line is a Pop Top amp and has built in crossover cards much like the PG RNETs to run low pass, high pass or full range. I had a SX 275 back in the day and it got stolen and my insurance company replaced it with a XTR 275 that I still have. I love the old Orion stuff and its very well built.

Sorry guys I guess I should tell you that the price tag is139.00. im sure i could jew him down to 80 or so, hopefully its still there after xmas
