I have heard the idea of hooking it up to the accesory rather then the remote turn on and then using it to power the deck as well as the rest of the system but wondered if anyone actually did it? I was considering it as I would connect the decks remote out to the eq215ix, and then I can still use the delayed remote turn on output from the EQ215ix to turn on the amp and not have any turn on noise and the idea of powering the deck from the same power wires as the amps sounds nice. Has Anyone done it and was there any problems with it?

i use my dd10 to power +/- power of the headunit and turn on dd10 as usual with remote output of headunit.
only issue i have is the headunit is earthing itself out somewhere down the line so i have a ground loop but will get round to sorting it.

I did it when I had my DD5. It got rid of the slight whine I had.

if you were using the DD to power the deck, why didn't you use the ground wire that is with the power wire?

I was looking to do this with my Alpine deck, but it has a 15A fuse and the DD5's outputs are only rated at 10A so I'm not sure whether to take the risk

I am a little concerned as well but since I am not using the amp in the deck I don't really think I am going to be using near its max power.
