I'm thinking Im going to buy one from a memeber for a fair price
just wondering if anyone has heard or tried them
the model is 800.4
they were very pricey new but I think they have to be better than say a x100.4

let me know what you think
thanks again
mike

I worked at shops that sold diamond gear for years and still have never seen another amp like the ones I have mike. I am not sure how many they made but I think it is only in the hundreds so not many people have heard or seen them other then online.

Diamond Audio stuff has always been exceptional, especially on the higher end stuff and the amps are no exception. Used to run all DA stuff before switching back over to the PG TI line as I just love the look, but my next install in the new car next year will be all DA, PG and Sundown Audio.

reading about the amp it was made to be up there vs mcintosh 4x100 amps. I have always wanted a mcintosh but get never get the $$ to buy one. of coures it needs the volt meters
DA also hand made these amp 12 a week for 3 year so that makes about 1500 of them made.
Pricing is all over the board from 200-900 when Diamond got rid of the last of them

I know there has not been many made but the guys here have used and heard alot more than i have so I just asking some feed back

It will be used for the focal 38kx 15" sub rear and my nib mb quart old school 328.2 3 way 61/2" .4".tweeters.

I was looking also at the xenon 200.4 but to me vs the Da it just normal plain and might have problem later with some of the x amp problems.
I would have loved to find a tru c7 4, the mcintosh orion nt amps or something like that but its all $$$

1500 sounds like alot, like I said I have never seen any others then those two. I have seen more franks and bandits in the years I installed to be honest.... I have been using one to run my diamond 3 ways that are bi-amped, and the other runs 4 8" woofers.

I read there was 12 week hand made for 3 year..? 52 x12 x 3 = 1872
there has been about 6 I have seen for sale or sold on the net
200-300 seem to be the going prices right now? odd that a $1600 retail only 5 years old
would have lost so much $$ the mcintosh are still in the $650-1100 for there 2k retail ones

actually 2 weeks ago there was a NIB one on ebay for $1300. While they are great amps they have not held their value as well as other high end amps. Not sure why as I have not had a bit of problem from mine nor heard of any problems. The only adjustments I made to it after installing it was after I bought an o-scope and tuned it correctly, otherwise once I installed them, the only time I took them out was when they were going to be in the shop for a while and I didn't want them ripped off. I designed my amp rack so I could pull it out with out ever touching the amps so they have been rarely touched while they were used except for cleaning. Not too worried about it as if you do not buy it someone will and I am not really selling them because I need the cash. It would be nice as I need to get some mass loaded vinyl and other stuff but not necessary yet.
