i'm wanting to make my lighting for my install remote control so it's not on all the time (like it is now on one of my dd10 outputs). is there anything available to allow remote control turn on for 12v? failing this i'll put a simple on/off switch somewhere but thought remote control would be a cool idea :D

Mark.

Why not off a remote FOB , like the kind u get on alarm systems, I am trying to find what I am talking about , but they do exsist

basically press button on FOB, signals a relay which switches on , press button again relay swings and lights off.

guys used to use this with Actuators a while ago as well

why dont you use a garage door kit?
other option i take it you have a clifford alarm they do a eight channel expander that lets you do things like this off your alarm remote you program them to do all sorts of funky stuff
ive got one to basicly run my car everthing works from my alarm remote and i mean everything lol

depending one what alarm you have( I am sure we all do) it may have an extra output. Sometimes they are programmable so you could set them to turn on with one push, and off with the 2nd push, or just use a latching relay if needed. There may be an extra output for remote start or trunk pop that you are not using, or it might just have an extra output for stuff like this, mine does.

I recently bought a small piece to control some of my aux power pieces. It allows you to control 4 things with it and is basically just a relay unit with a remote switch base. The switch base has 4 selections on it but is the thickness of a credit card with a ribbon cable going to it. I ran it out of a small slit in my dash and when attached it almost looks like it could be stock. Got it at autozone, I think pilot makes it....
