I guy I know owns a audio shop and has some old stock he want to sell

I was stupid and last week bought a sub but it can't fit my needs

here is a list of some sub he has. It need it to work off a x200.2

now keep in mind i like rap but only have a 450watts rms. I would like seal box but not a must

I sure i can return the sub i bought but just trying to make everyone happy I have about 180 to spend before i need to add money

or if anyone want a deck he has some older clarions like the clarion dxz765mp $140.00 or the clarion dxz775usb for 140 or dxz665mp for 100
now the deck some are one of so they might have been in the board I can ask

let me know what you have used like or hated. I know he has more these are just the better of the list...

what didnt you like about the rsdc? because in my mind, its the perfect sub

i was ok not that I hated it. It was 75/100 for me. I don't know I have never really really love the sound of pg subs? tried -ti elite,saphire, rsdc,cyclone,octane, and tantrums.

I have alway been a fan of old school jl w0,w1,w4 and 1st gen w6. But i bought some 12w6v2,10w7 and it was loud but i didn't like it. the w7 was the box it was the jl h output box.
I loved some old c12 kicker the first gen and some orion older 1998-2002 sub.
I like the focal Joerg sold me but it is getting old so i sold it for almost what i paid.
Im just never happy my first sub were free air kenwood like them but only because I didn't have anything to compare them to. than pioneer iimp,alpine bass 200 ect ect the list goes on.

Maybe I don't like the RSDC because I seen and owned the prototype and seen the end item and was not happy with what they came out with .
My problem is there is alway bigger and better out there and i have to learn to just be happy

Also i have had better results (sound IMO) with subs that are rated with lower power than one that need more.
Let me clear that up if a sub need 300 watt rms and i give it very clean 500 I find it sounds better and like the sub has more control. Than a sub that need 500 watt rms but could need and wants a little more. Im not a bass head like it very very clean not rta clean but little more bass.
I think Im done buying for this car other than the sub.
Im going to use my mb quart 3 ways front,clarion dvd deck, clarion center channel, mb quart rears (only for moives) and a 10 or 12 in the rear.
I was just wondering if any of these sub sound good bad or great as they are options for me.
I have a chance to get a new old school orion xtrpro dvc in a ported box I might try If not i will pick up Tom ssa sub.

Since you like the way the old kickers sound I have a xpl12 that was new when I got it last summer. It's. A 2 ohm one 75 plus shipping to you.

I would rather try to stay in the 4ohm if I can so if I change a mp I will not have problem later

Its one without the ridges on the cone second gen. I also have a new 4 ohm one

Im really trying to work off this list as right now i have a credit with him for about 170-180 I would not like to spend more cash if i don't need to

I don't have my clarion brochures with me at the moment but I'd pick one of the clarion subs. Seems to be the best bang for the buck in that group. I'd love to gave the 775 hu. Bit no $$.

the old xtr's are good subs but i never liked them sealed and ported you will need a big box for 2. but they will get pretty loud off lower power.

I had an Orion 12 XTR the Blue one and it pounded Loud in one of the old ported Orion Xtreme Boxes but like stated it needs a lot of room.

Excellent woofer , does not need huge power and had good control , very very musical too.

Im using a x200.2 so I can use the amp to band pass the sub sound

I am sure I have a box somewhere for these.

Damn look at the FS =23Hz, tune the box to about 35Hz and ur a happy puppy all day long.

I think you would like the olderish Adire Audio Shiva. DIYCable still makes it under license. Also they are available used when they pop up. Other than that SSA sounds good from what people say.

I hated my Orion XTR subs, sealed in an Orion enclosure - so it was setup right. Replaced it with an a/d/s/ RS12 and was much happier (but even that was not an excellent sub - good SQ but lacked impact).

I had the 2nd gen (the one w/o the rippled cone) and loved it. I haven't been that impressed w/a a sub in a long time.

I had 2 12 inch first gens.......running off an M50, fuck did they sound good Im actually tossing around the idea of trying to round up all the same gear I had from back in the day and re-createing the awesomeness it was ......

I still have my old subs from yesteryear... Although great back in the day, not so good by todays standards.

The modern year 2000+ subs are insanely better IMO.

Tweets and mids are a completely different story though. Good old gear still sounds good.
