I wanted to know what kinda power im workin with in my 06 Sonata GLS (V6). Since the car is being stored at my dad's till i get my license back, i looked online. I keep getting specs that say that my car has a stock 130 amp alternator. Is that an unusually large alt for this type of car? From what I read in the "Proper Power" thread, my car shouldnt have much more than a 60 or 70 amp alt. Only reason I really care is cuz im planin on runnin about a 120 amp draw (probably from an rsd1200.1 if i can get my hands on one).

i dont think that uncommon for a newer v6 vehicle. should be plenty for most setups. more is better....but should be fine with your rsd1200.1

it could possibly have a 130 amp alternator especially if the car has all the options and also if it has more than one onboard computer. but even if it is a 130 amp you still must consider that all the onboard electronics will still draw a few amps while there running. so maybe at best you could expect around 100 amps left for amps, but with the headlights and heater going you could expect even lest. but a 130 amp alternator is alot better than a 75 any day so in most cases you should have plenty of power.

if you are concerned I think there is a PG HO alt in the for sale section. I have been having a hard time not snapping it up myself and I know I am not alone
