Xenon amps and Line drivers

Here is a question, I have a few guys who have said the same thing. In fact the first place I read about it was on here. So why is it that Xenon amps need so much line voltage before they come alive, surely thats what gains are there for , but even with this I find they do not perform as they should. Its only when you hook up the LD do they shine.

even with 8 volts, you still have to turn those damn gains up- very odd, thank goodness they have a very low noise floor

I concur. You need lots of input voltage to make these things show their true colors but when they do get what they need.... very "beasty" indeed. I've got a X400.1 and it has my 12" Macdaddy (rated 600w rms) on the ropes all day long!! I was planning on bridging a ZX600ti to it because I didn't think this thing would be sufficient but that's what i get for thinking.
