They look incredible! Don't think the artwork is high either. As soon as they are on the heat sink the artwork will look properly placed.

It's like a dream coming to life, I love it Matt. Can't wait to see them all lined up. I'm sure I got a camera and staging area that will really do the amps justice.

is the gold darker on the edges or is that just the effect on the camera?

me too but I wasn't sure if it was a candy effect that the camera was picking up(that would vary depending on the light) or if it is just a little extra color?

what you're witnessing is called framing edge in the coating world... it almost always happen when doing candies.. however- knowing, going into the project, that there would be like upwards of 4-5 coats in total on the parts... so i knew/had that concern... candies are very hard to do with no framing edge...especially doing 3-4 coats of it.... framing edge can occur with any number of things wrong/out of place... typically it is a grounding issue... but when doing clears or other base color coats it doesnt or isnt significant enough to make an impact....BUT one of things that comes into play is the conductivity of the part- and as you lay more and more subsequent coats the thickness of coating is getting thicker and thicker thus making the grounds' continuity to the booth more and more questionable.... so there are things/ways to fix that especially like on these covers here where as i hang them with sacrificial screws- which also work/double as plugs for the threaded holes... and perhaps that is not good idea as maybe it is not as "grounded" as it could be as if i were to hang with hooks out of the screw holes...but with the doing it that way- you experience hook marks or bald spots around the hook/s... with using the sacrificial screws i can remove the coated/buggered up ones and put in new ones and re-hang... my thinking is that will allow good ground for subsequent coats....

It's really like a learning experience almost always when coating stuff, certainly for the first time anyways...

So yes- lil darker around the edges - but i kinda like it... it makes it look more like candy IYAM... kinda gives it a framing effect which is cool
more like a jolly rancher or something textured almost even like..

here's some candy on my ninja's nose done using iwata paint gun's there's not much of a leading edge on it but i used the best paint and technique's, i learned from top custom painter's. the only thing is you lose some caracter when using some technique's but it still has the candy effect. :)

they're done! all together-

three little indians!

@ RANDY... I CAN DO ANOTHER PLATE FOR YOU SO IT WILL MATCH BETTER- as there were months between i did the plate and amps... so the amount of candy powder or chorme base could be different thus making the plate look lil darker...but we had discussed some other amp to get coated and maybe we do it then to finalize the/this deal as we agreed that you would get lilcense plate ....AND i think i would like to see the same logo used on the plate as on the amps... know what i mean... not team member logo on plate but whatever logo is on the amps ...
right?

matt
