Enclosure size question

My enclosure is undivided and has a total internal volume of 2.2 cu/ft.

I have 2 12's and I have always asumed that the free space would be divided between them and each sub woudl see 1.1 cu/ft.

Is this correct?

yessir. unless you are giving them different signals for one is reversed phase or something

Could I reverse phase 1 of them and make each 1 see the full 2.2 cu/ft???????

I dont need that much but I never thought of that

Uhh, no, then you get no bass, because each cone would be moving in opposite directions.

now if he fliped one over in the box then reversed the polarity on it wouldnt that change that effect?
probably would have no gain to do such but.......looks

It would have no effect, because both pistons are still moving in the same direction, this is in comparison, to both speakers in polarity, with both cones out. It would sound the same. Both speakers are sharing the same space and thereforewill see half the air space no matter what you do. If you get them to see a larger space than actually existist, then you have some sort of physics bending design that I'm sure NASA would be interested in.
