Hi there, I am new here but having had a look at all the posts it seems there are many knowledgable members who may be able to help me out.

I have an XS 2500 (had it about 9 years now) but about 2 years ago the crossover stopped working. I have found that the amp works fine in full range but as soon as I put the low pass filter on everything goes quiet.

I have put a scope on it (with very limited electrical knowledge) and found that the signal vanishes even at input stage when the crossover switch has been pressed but returns as soon as it is released.

Is this a known problem/something that may be easy to cure? If not I will just get an external filter.

that isnt really a common problem. and it seems it could be any number of things on the XO board. luckily its on a completely separate board so its easier to work on. my first thoughts are the ribbon cable that attaches it to the main board failed. pop her open and see if anything obvious is noticable

I had a feeling that it would be an odd problem.

I have the case off at the moment as I have been trying to see if I can isolate the faulty part but I'm not too great as my skills are a little basic.

The ribbon looked ok on quick inspection and I put a multimeter across the rnet and it seems to check out (220 on each?)

I will double check the cable tomorrow, amp is at work.

Is the XO board hard to come across as a spare if that is the easiest fix? Would love to have it fully functional as I love the sound it makes.

At the moment I can get away with feeding it a high level signal that is already filtered by the car (Saab 95 door speakers are bass only).

I think the ribbon cable is fine because amplifier work in bypass its just something happen with crossover. Check RN500

When you say check RN500 what do you mean? I put a multimeter across each pair of pins and got 220 out of each, plus checked it plugged in on the bottom of the board and got the same, so it seems the socket and the resistors are ok?

Am I missing something?
